Overview

The Fire Prevention Bureau's primary mission is to coordinate a range of programs and activities geared toward both children and adults of all ages throughout the year.

Our goal is to education the public and/or schools through fire safety education and involvement with community groups.

Some of the activities include:
  • Station Tours
  • Fire Safety Talks (Adults & Children)
  • Child Safety Seat Inspections
  • Blood Pressure Screenings
  • Fire Extinguisher Training
  • Home Safety Inspections
  • Tornado Safety Instructions
  • Smoke Detector Evaluations
  • Fire Drills
  • Block Parties
  • Kindergarten Fire Truck Rides
In addition, the Fire Prevention Bureau offers educational programs to some of our local schools, such as the Risk Watch Program. This program covers a large range of subject areas that are taught by a number of different professionals.

We also host fire safety talks for seniors 65 and older at various senior centers. All of these activities and programs give the public a chance to get up close and personal with their local firefighters.

Please feel free to contact the Fire Prevention Bureau office at (847) 362-5664 to schedule any of the community activities mentioned above.
