September 15th-October 15th is Hispanic Heritage Month
At the September 13th Village Board meeting, Mayor Johnson issued an official proclamation recognizing September 15th through October 15th, 2022 as Hispanic Heritage Month. This is part of a continuous effort to recognize heritage months in Libertyville.

In support of the month, we encourage residents and visitors alike to engage in additional resources for education and celebration:
-The College of Lake County is hosting numerous events to celebrate Latinx Heritage Month.
-Cook Memorial Public Library has curated a list of recommended books that you can reserve online.
-The Library of Congress hosts a national resource website cataloguing events and resources for the month.
-The Smithsonian is hosting a number of in-person and online events for vibrant performances, lectures, and family activities.
