Reminder - Water Conservation Notice Due to CLCJAWA Shutdown
As a reminder, the Village is asking all residents and business owners to conserve their water usage beginning Tuesday, June 18 due to a scheduled repair on the water transmission line of the Village’s water supplier, Central Lake County Joint Action Water Agency (CLCJAWA), a shutdown on their water distribution operations will be occurring on Tuesday, June 18th at 8:00 AM. The duration of the shutdown is anticipated to be 48-hours, but may be shorter or longer depending upon the repair and follow-up sampling/testing protocols.
During this time the Village will continue to supply water from our reserve storage ground reservoirs and our emergency back-up wells. The water will be safe to drink during this shutdown period, however users may notice a slight change in the color, odor or taste of the water due to the use of the back-up wells.
During the shutdown period, we request that residents and business owners conserve their water usage. This includes refraining from using water to irrigate lawns and plants and avoiding excessive dishwashing and laundry.
Public Works staff is closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as they are received on our website and Facebook pages.
