2018 Pavement Rehabilitation
To: Dear Resident of Seventh Street
Date: April 24, 2018
Weather permitting, the concrete curb and gutter replacement and driveway repair are scheduled to be completed the week of April 20, 2018. The parkway restoration is scheduled to be completed by Friday, April 27, 2018. Thank you for your patience and continued cooperation.
The pavement grinding on the streets above is scheduled to begin as early as Wednesday, May 2, 2018. The existing pavement will be milled down about 2.5 inches and driveways adjacent to the grinding operations may be temporarily inaccessible while the operations move past. The Village of Libertyville requests that all vehicles are off the streets listed above from 7am to 5pm.
After grinding and other preparation work is done, the street will be cleaned prior to applying a prime coat (tar-like material). The prime coat allows the resurfacing to bond completely with the original pavement. Please read the reverse side of this letter for important hints for dealing with road oil. WATCH FOR “FRESH OIL” SIGNS. These will typically be placed just outside of the construction zone at least 24 hours before the application of road oil. The first layer of asphalt will be placed closely following the application of the prime coat.
For any questions regarding the construction, please the Engineering Division Office at (847) 918-2100 M-F 8am to 5 pm. The reverse side of this letter provides information on how to obtain construction updates electronically.
For any problems which may develop after hours, please call the Police non-emergency number (847) 362-8310, and they will contact the proper personnel for follow-up. Thank you again for your cooperation.
As always, your patience throughout this process is greatly appreciated.
