Sanitary Sewer Lining on Forest Lane and Merrill Court

The Village of Libertyville has recently entered into a contract with Michels Pipe Service of Brownsville, Wisconsin to rehabilitate three segments of sanitary sewer.  One of those segments is located on Forest Lane and Merrill Court.
The lining crew will begin the sewer lining work starting tomorrow morning (Nov. 30th) and the contractor will be installing a liner inside the existing sewer pipe.  All work is done through the manholes and inside the sewer.  No excavation of the street surface is necessary.
During the liner inversion and curing stages, individual service connections within the segment being lined are temporarily blocked by the liner.  To minimize the potential for a sewer back-up into your basement during this period, you should minimize water usage while the crew is working on your street.  Avoid washing clothes, dishes, and long showers.  Your sewer lateral should have sufficient holding capacity for several toilet flushes, and other minor water usage.  Please ensure that all plumbing traps (especially the basement floor drain) have water in them.  This will prevent the entrance of any odors from the liner resins into your home.
For any questions regarding the construction, please call the Engineering Division Office at (847) 918-2100. For any problems which may develop after hours, please call the Police non-emergency number (847) 362-8310, and they will contact the proper personnel for follow-up. Thank you again for your cooperation.
