Construction Advisory -
Pavement Rehabilitation:
Dawes Street (176 to McKinley)

Concrete curb and concrete pavement patches will be identified and marked for removal.  The schedule will be as follows:
Saw cutting, removal and replacement is scheduled to begin the week of May 29. Curb and concrete pavement will be removed on one side of the street at a time.  This work is weather dependent so the exact dates may change.  A separate notice will be passed out notifying residents of driveway or parking lot closures.  When the curb or pavement is removed through a driveway or parking lot, it will be unavailable for use for a period of approximately seven days.
The Village asks that residents do not park on streets in the work area during construction hours (7 am to 5 pm Monday thru Friday) during the concrete installation and curing period.  Outside of construction hours, street parking follows posted signs.  Some areas of the street require extensive patching, leaving only one lane available for traffic flow.  Please do not park in the street and block the active traffic lane.
For any questions regarding the construction, please call the Engineering Division Office at (847) 918-2100 or Kevin Betke (Resident Engineer with Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd.) at (847) 833-0252 between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. You can also email Kevin Betke at
For any problems which may develop after hours, please call the Police non-emergency number (847) 362-8310, and they will contact the proper personnel for follow-up. Thank you again for your cooperation.  As always, your patience and cooperation throughout this process is greatly appreciated.
