As it emphasizes environmental friendliness and office clutter reduction, the Fire Prevention Bureau prefers all projects and their materials to be electronically submitted.
Therefore, please email your submittal package to: fireplanreviews@libertyville.com
The following attachments will be required for the submission to be accepted:
1. Plans (if submitted physically as requested by the Fire Prevention Bureau, please provide 3 copies)
i. The plans must include a bar scale.
2. Cut sheets
3. Transmittal letter
i. This letter must contain the email address(es) you want response sent to.
4. A current copy of your Certificate of Fitness (COF)
i. Note that if your COF has expired, application for a new one may be submitted separately. However, plans will not be approved until the COF is up to date.
5. For sprinkler projects: hydraulic calcs (unless it is a small project that does not require new calcs)
i. If not required, it would be mandatory to note in the submission that they were intentionally omitted.
6. For fire alarm projects: battery calcs (unless it is a small project that does not require new calcs).
i. If not required, it would be mandatory to note in the submission that they were intentionally omitted.
Depending on the scale of the project, the Fire Prevention Bureau reserves the right to request paper copies of the plans at any time.
Starting on the date the submissions were placed in our review queue, each plan review generally takes around two weeks to complete. Project updates are provided to the email address on file/included in the submission. If no updates are provided by the end of the third week, please feel free to call us at 847-362-5664 and request an update. Thank you in advance for your patience.
